Deceased Man Found Near Marijuana Grow in Johnson County

A deceased man was found Monday morning on the property of a marijuana grow house according to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Alford of Johnson County said deputies were sent to the 5000 block of Country Road 410 at 7:30 p.m. on May 22 regarding a missing person. When deputies arrived, they saw a man coming out of the woods behind the house covered in dirt, with his hands also covered in dirt and sweating profusely. The individual indicated the missing person was last seen in Arlington, Texas, and was later taken into custody.

The search for the missing person continued overnight but was not successful. The morning of May 23, a k9 team was brought to the property along with the Johnson County Sheriff's Office and Texas Rangers.

At 9:10 a.m., Sheriff Bob Alford found the body of a man adjacent to a hand dug grave measuring approximately 6 feet in length, 3 feet in width and 4.5 feet deep. The deceased man had dirt from the grave thrown over his body. In addition to the body, deputies found a large Marijuana grow site, including cultivated plants, located throughout the property and a large indoor Hydroponic grow house.

At this time, two unnamed individuals have been taken into custody on unrelated charges, but are considered to be persons of interest, said the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. The victim's identity has not been confirmed.
