Dallas Highway Reopen After Deadly Crash

Police are investigating a deadly accident that shut down part of a Dallas highway Thursday night. 

Officers said an 18-wheeler cab was headed north on Interstate 45 at about 8:27 p.m. when it went through the guardrail and plunged to the ground below near Overton Road.

Dallas Fire-Rescue officials said they pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The victim's identity has not be released.

Police said only the far right lane on northbound I-45 at Overton Road was getting by, but NBC 5 confirmed all lanes have reopened. 

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
