An autopsy will be conducted on a dead newborn whose body was found on a sorting conveyor belt at a San Antonio recycling center.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office says Tuesday that an autopsy will be conducted on the newborn, whose body was found Monday.
Waste Management spokeswoman Lisa Doughty says an employee working at the beginning of the sorting line found the body just before 1 p.m. on Monday. She says the facility immediately stopped operations at that time and called police.
Doughty says Waste Management has provided police with records of all the trucks that arrived at the facility between Saturday and noon on Monday.
Police completed their onsite investigation late Monday. Doughty says the center reopened early Tuesday.
