Authorities released dramatic dash camera video of a high-speed chase involving Dallas County sheriff's deputies along some of Dallas' busiest highways.
The chase began when deputies attempted to stop three cars racing on eastbound Texas 183 near Regal Row just after 11 p.m. last Thursday. They lost two of the cars but stayed with a white Camaro.
Officers pursued the Camaro to northbound Interstate 35E at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
While exiting at Loop 12, the driver of the Camaro lost control going down the ramp and drifted into a large electric transmission pole, authorities said.
Deputies raced to put out the ensuing fire with portable extinguishers, but officials said the male driver was killed in the crash and a female passenger was transported to a hospital in serious condition.
The driver was later identified as 28-year-old Serafin Licea.
