Dallas to Debate Funding Control Tower

Dallas city leaders could vote to spend more than $300,000 to keep the control tower at Executive Airport in Oak Cliff open after federal budget cuts.

The aircraft control tower is one of the 149 announced by the Federal Aviation Administration to be closed because of automatic federal budget cuts.

Dallas would pay $334,000 to a third party contractor to staff the tower.

Council members are scheduled to debate the issue on Wednesday.
