Dallas Police Searching for Two Who Fled Crash on North Central Expressway

Central reopens all lanes to traffic at about 4:30 p.m.

Dallas police officers are searching for two people who they say committed two robberies before fleeing the scene of a crash on North Central Expressway Monday afternoon.

According to police, four men were being sought in connection with two robberies that took place earlier in the day.  The first took place at about 12:49 p.m. on the 5900 block of E. University and the second at 1:09 p.m. on the 9900 block of Walnut Street.  Further details about the robberies have not yet been released.

Police said that the robbers crashed and abandoned a vehicle on the 10000 block of North Central Expressway after the second robbery.  They tried to steal another car but were forced to flee on foot, police said.

From Chopper 5, officers were seen on North Central Expressway investigating a black sedan that was stopped perpendicular to the flow of traffic. The car had visible damage and debris was strewn across several lanes of traffic.

officers searched by ground and by air for the individuals who ran from the car near the intersection of North Central Expressway and Walnut Hill Lane.

Two of the men were found and taken into custody.  Meanwhile, officers are continuing to search for the other two men.
