    A Dallas police officer was taken to the hospital after her cruiser was rear-ended by a pickup truck Monday morning.

    A Dallas police officer was taken to the hospital after her cruiser was rear-ended by a pickup truck Monday morning.

    It happened just after 5 a.m. in the 3600 block of South Walton Walker Boulevard just south of Kiest Boulevard.

    A pickup truck slammed into the back of the cruiser according to Dallas Fire-Rescue. NBC 5 crews on the scene of the accident showed the cruiser with the entire trunk smashed and heavy damage to the front end of the pickup.

    A Dallas police officer was taken to the hospital after her cruiser was rear-ended by a pickup truck Monday morning.

    The police officer was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center according to Dallas fire dispatch with possible neck and back injuries. The driver of the pickup escaped injury.

    Investigators are looking into the cause of the accident.
