Dallas Mayor Delivers State of the City Address

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings delivered his State of the City address Tuesday afternoon in front of a large crowd.

The speech focused on the need to attract young people to Dallas and make big things happen.

Rawlings said Trinity Parkway project investment will be a huge lure for young people.

He also said the recent passage of the Dallas Independent School District bond was a step in the right direction for the district and will keep young families in the city.

However, he said the Cowboys moving to Arlington represented a missed opportunity for the city of Dallas.

"Dallas needs think big," he said.

Rawlings told the crowd that he believes young people will lead Dallas toward a great future.

"I want to listen to young people," Rawlings said. "I want to learn about what they want our city to look like in 20 and 30 years."
