Dallas Man Shot To Death On Front Porch of Home

Police have no clues on suspect or motive in the shooting.

Police are investigating the death of a Dallas man found shot to death on the front porch of his home.

36-year-old Jeffrey Weaver was found shot multiple times just before 2:00 a.m. Saturday. Police said he was on the threshold of his front porch. Weaver was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His wife heard the gunshots while inside their home in the 600 block of Woodmont Drive in Pleasant Grove.

"He was my husband," Shawanda Weaver said tearfully. "He was my children's father. He was a son and a brother.. and now he's gone."

"He was laying on the floor," Weaver said. "And I yelled to my daughter... call 911... and I was trying to keep him talking but the only thing he said was 'I love you'."

Police spokeswoman Melinda Gutierrez said the homicide division is "tracking down all leads."

Police have not released descriptions of suspects or said whether there is a known motive.

The Dallas Morning News reported Weaver had a criminal history, and had been charged in recent years with aggravated robbery and other crimes.
