Dallas Man Gets 10 Years for Counterfeiting Credit Cards

A Texas man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for trafficking in counterfeit credit cards.

U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden also ordered 42-year-old Mikel Chad Adams of Dallas to serve three years of supervised release. Adams was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Gulfport, Miss.

Adams must pay $16,526 in restitution to the credit card companies.

Prosecutors say Adams was arrested after attempting to use a fraudulent credit card at a gas station in Pass Christian. Adams was found with lists of debit and credit card numbers.

Prosecutors say Adams had lists of debit and credit cards numbers he would affix blank credit cards.

They say a total of 916 account numbers from two issuing banks were found. They say about 638 cardholder victims were identified.
