Dallas ISD Sees Enrollment Drop Again

Dallas ISD enrollment could be down as many as 2,000 students from last year despite efforts to entice parents back to the district, Superintendent Michael Hinojosa said late Tuesday. The district had been expecting an increase of 700 students, but instead, the numbers continue to drop.

While DISD doesn't have a complete reckoning just seven days into the school year, daily enrollment totals are down between 700 and 2,000 students from a year ago, Hinojosa said. He estimates the final number will be between 750 and 1500 students.
