Dallas Fire to Send 40 Firefighters to Possum Kingdom Lake

The Dallas Fire Department is sending 40 firefighters to battle wildfires near Possum Kingdom Lake, the department said Tuesday.

Dallas Fire-Rescue said they have four teams of 10 firefighters, all trained in wild land firefighting, ready to go.

Ryan Evans, first assistant city manager of Dallas, said DFRs crew will be dispatched Wednesday through May 1.  Each of the 10-man teams will be deployed for three days with a command vehicle and four booster trucks (F-350 trucks equipped with a water tank and firefighting equipment).

A total of 1,400 firefighters from 34 states and the Federal government, have come together to battle the Texas wildfires that have burned more than 1.6 million acres.
