Dallas City Hall Launches New Website

The City of Dallas is introducing a new website it hopes helps citizens and the community stay informed of what's going on in the city.

DallasCityNewsroom.com will feature city news, information about city initiatives, events and services.

The website will also feature Dallas City News Network (DCNN) the municipal TV channel which shows web streaming of city council meetings live or on demand.

"This new technology makes council meeting videos available within a few hours of completion and features an indexed agenda, allowing users to select a particular agenda item and jump to the relevant section of video," said Chief Information Officer Bill Finch.

The city is also rebuilding and redesigning the city's home page, DallasCityHall.com, scheduled to launch in March 2014.

"As we expand our engagement with residents, we want to be sure we're communicating with everyone, including those who depend on social media to stay informed," said Public Information Office Director Frank Librio. "We believe these online platforms will allow us to better communicate and serve our citizens quickly during natural disasters and other crisis situations."

Both websites are smartphone and tablet compatible.
