Dallas Church Gains New Senior Pastor

Waco native to lead St. Luke "Community" United Methodist Church

One of the oldest black churches in Dallas has a new Senior Pastor.

Waco native Dr. Henry Masters will lead Saint Luke "Community" United Methodist Church in East Dallas. His wife, Rev. Dianna Masters is also from Waco. She will serve as Associate Pastor at Saint Luke.

According to a press release from the church, The Masters', who are currently leading Holman United Methodist Church in Los Angeles, will begin their service on July 1.

According to its website, Saint Luke "Community" United Methodist Church's roots go back to the 1930's. It will celebrate its 79th anniversary on April 22.

The Rev. Zan Holmes, Jr. served as Pastor from 1974 until retirement in 2002.  He returned as Interim Pastor in Feb., of 2012.

The Masters have been married for 38 years. They have three adult children and four grandchildren.
