Dallas Budget Shortfall: $131 Million

Dallas City Hall is desperate for money. The October budget shortfall is now $131 million.

Police furloughs are even possible, along with more layoffs and service cuts.

One councilman wants a property tax rate increase.

The city council will discuss the latest bad budget outlook Wednesday.

Dallas Spent $1.3 Million on Storm Debris

The City of Dallas spent $1.3 million on outside contractors to clean up after February's record snow storm.

Now the city wants to add a 40 cent monthly fee on sanitation bills to raise cash for a future cleanup fund.

The city says if the money is not needed in the future, the fee will be canceled.
