ME Says Child Drowned in N. Texas Lake
The Dallas County medical examiner says a 9-year-old girl drowned Saturday at Joe Pool Lake. Paramedics worked to revive Vanessa Sandoval after she was pulled from the water before taking her to a nearby hospital in Duncanville.  Circumstances surrounding Sandoval's drowning have not yet been made available.

Dallas Police Still Searching for Vendor's Killer
Dallas Police are still searching for a suspect who shot into a crowd of vendors at a Dallas computer sale on the morning of July fourth killing 58-year-old Herbert “Dale” Orsburn who was hit by one of the 5 bullets fired by the gunman. Investigators hope that a $15,000 reward will encourage someone to come forward with information on the shooting. The shooter was driving a sedan with a Mustang body style say police. Anyone with information is asked to call Dallas police at 214-671-3661.

Driver Jumps to His Death After Police Chase
A man who was speeding away from authorities struck a concrete wall and jumped 50 feet to his death off a Houston highway exit ramp Sunday morning.  The pursuit began after a deputy with the Harris County Constables stopped the man for a traffic violation, and he became agitated and uncooperative. As the deputy talked to the man, he abruptly put his white BMW in gear and sped off, said Chief Mark Herman of the Harris County Constables. The deputy followed him to the southbound exit ramp to Interstate 45, where the man's vehicle struck a concrete retaining wall. As the deputy got closer, he saw the man jump over the structure and fall to the service road below. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Herman said. The man, who authorities are still trying to identify, was between 20 to 30 years old, Herman said. Authorities are also trying to determine if he was the owner of the BMW. Other drivers witnessed the incident Sunday morning.

Three Behind Bars in Connection with Cabbie's Brutal Murder
Three people remain behind bars this morning after being accused of capital murder in the death of a cab driver. The victim’s body was discovered on the night of Thursday, July 2, after Justin firefighters put out a grass fire. The cab driver, whose taxi was found about a mile away from the body, was stabbed and his throat was cut. Investigators were able to track the suspects after one of them used the victims’ credit card.
 
Woman Shot, Killed in Fair Park
Dallas Police questioned two people Sunday night in relation to a deadly shooting near Fair Park. Just after one Sunday afternoon, a woman was shot just off of Grand Avenue and Meyers Street. The suspect then fled the area but was caught a few minutes later in a nearby apartment complex. The victim was rushed to Baylor Hospital where she died. The homicide divisions of the Dallas Police are interviewing people of interest and other witnesses, but so far there have been no details on any arrest.
 
Multi-Car Crash Kills 2, Injures 7
Two people were killed and seven were injured in a nine-car chain reaction crash that took place in Cooke County on Sunday. Traffic was backed up and flowing slowly due to construction on Interstate 35 when Randy Crume, the driver of a semi truck failed to control speed and struck the rear of the stopped traffic causing multiple collisions. Gervious Hinkle and his 13-year-old grandson were both killed in the crash. Charges are pending as DPS Troopers conduct further investigations.
 
Nearly Two Dozen Left Homeless After Apartment Fire
More than 20 residents were displaced from their home Saturday night after a fire ripped through their apartment complex, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. At least eight apartments on the 1400 block of Shady Lane were damaged, authorities said. Those removed from their home were relocated to different complexes and were supplied bedding by the Red Cross. Bedford fire officials have not released the cause of the fire.
