MESQUITE MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH SERIES OF ROBBERIES
Mesquite police arrested a 55-year-old man Wednesday afternoon in connection with the robberies of a Cracker Barrel and Jack in the Box in Mesquite. The Mesquite Police Department will release the man’s mug shot and information after they complete their questioning.
ARLINGTON POLICE ARREST TWO MEN IN CHICAS LOCAS SHOOTING
Arlington police detectives have charged two men with capital murder for the shooting deaths of Jorge Perez and Edgar Ruiz-Araiza. The pair were killed July 11 outside Chicas Locas gentleman’s club. Darren Jermond Bell, 25, was arrested Tuesday evening by homicide detectives and taken to the Arlington City jail. His cousin, Robert Earl Bell, 19, is also being charged with capital murder and is in custody at the Tarrant County Jail on unrelated charges police said.
MAN FATALLY STRUCK BY TRAIN IN FORT WORTH
Fort Worth police are investigating the death of a man who was struck by a train Wednesday evening, The Dallas Morning News reports . A railroad employee spotted the man walking along the tracks just moments before the incident. His body was found not far from the tracks, police say. The man was not identified Wednesday evening.
MAN SHOT IN HEAD IN APPARENT DRUG DEAL
A 50-year-old man is hospitalized after being shot in the head, DallasNews.com reports. The man was rushed to a fire station Thursday evening after being shot on the 1300-block of Neptune Road in East Oak Cliff. The man was later taken to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Police are investigating and have not made any arrests.
PEDESTRIAN HIT AND KILLED IN HALTOM CITY
Charles Ray Sheppard, 50, was killed Wednesday night after he was struck by a car while walking along the 5200 block of Broadway Avenue, police say. When officers arrived on the scene, a driver of a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero told them that he was driving westbound on Broadway when he hit a man who was walking on the street, The Fort Worth Star Telegram reports . No charges are expected to be filed against the driver, police said.
