FOUR SHOT AT FORT WORTH PARTY
Four people were shot early Saturday night at a party in east Fort Worth. Police said they were monitoring the gang party when they heard gunshots. Police said three to four people were injured, none of them serious. Officers took one person into custody and are looking for a second in connection with the shooting.
TWO DEAD AFTER SERVICE ROAD WRECK
Two men died Saturday morning in a wreck on the eastbound Highway 80 service road in Kaufman County. The two male victims were traveling on the service road when the driver sped around another vehicle in a no passing zone and lost control. The driver then overcorrected causing the pickup to overturn into trees on the right side of the road, said witnesses. Sunnyvale firefighters worked for over an hour to extricate the men from the wreckage. Both men died on the scene. Drinking, speed and unsafe passing are the likely factors that led to the crash, police said.
DALLAS SHOOTING SUSPECT ARRESTED
Two men were shot at the Circle K on I-35E and Winslow early Saturday. At around 12:45 a.m., Steven Griffin and Zenas Hicks were involved in a minor car wreck and pulled off the interstate into the parking lot of a Circle K. Some sort of altercation occurred causing Griffin to pull out a gun and start shooting, Dallas police said. Hicks was shot and transported to Baylor, and a bystander was also hit but drove himself to Baylor, according to police. Police arrested Griffin who faces two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
VETERAN POLICE OFFICER DIES FROM CAR WRECK INJURIES
Cleburne police officer David Hogan died Friday night from injuries he suffered in a car crash earlier that day, the Cleburne Times-Review reported. Hogan was driving home Friday morning when the wreck occurred.
WOMAN CONVICTED FOR ATTACKING NEIGHBOR
Arlington resident Grace Head, 67, was convicted Friday morning for hitting her neighbor in the face with a board and jumping on her car after yelling racial slurs and threats. Head faces up to two years in jail for the misdemeanors when she is sentenced Monday.
