POLICE CHASE ENDS IN FIERY CRASH
A police chase ended early Sunday morning when the vehicle slammed into a Watauga strip mall and ruptured a gas line, setting off a fire. North Richland Hills police were in pursuit of a driver who refused to stop when the driver's car when out of control, hit a guardrail and crashed in front of the strip mall in the 7600 block of Denton Highway. The fire singed the side of the building, but fire crews got the blaze under control before the shopping center caught fire. The driver was taken to a local hospital with burns and abrasions, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, investigators said.
SHOOTING VICTIM DRIVES TO TRUCK STOP FOR HELP
A shooting victim drove himself to a truck stop late Saturday night after he was shot at an Ellis County home, investigators said. Ellis County investigators said the man was shot during an argument with someone he knew. He was flown to a nearby hospital. Investigators said the man, who was out of surgery and in critical condition Sunday morning, is expected to survive. Police have identified a suspect in the shooting and were questioning him Sunday morning.
MAN SHOT, KILLED IN PARKING LOT ARGUMENT
An Irving man was shot and killed during argument over a parking spot at a crowded soccer field in Dallas on Saturday night, police said. Wilmar Alexander Chavez was on his way to play soccer at the North Dallas park near the Interstate 635 eastbound service road. Police say Chavez parked his vehicle, approached a white sport utility vehicle and someone fired from inside the SUV at close range. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. EULESS MAN FACES MURDER CHARGE IN ARLINGTON SHOOTING
An 18-year-old man faces a murder charge in connection with the shooting death of a 20-year-old at an Arlington gas station. Michael Anthony Hill, 18, turned himself in to Euless police on Friday and was transported Saturday to Arlington Jail. He is accused of killing Charles Goodacre at a gas station near the southeast corner of Interstate 30 and Highway 360. Bail was set at $100,000.
TEEN KILLED IN GAS STATION SHOOTING
An Arlington teenager was fatally shot at a Grand Prairie gas station on Saturday night. Police do not know what led to the shooting. Police said a second shooting victim was able to drive them to a nearby hospital. Mitchell Taleferio, 16, died at the hospital.
