STUARD FOUND GUILTY IN NORTHPARK MALL SHOOTING
A man accused of shooting a Waxahachie woman in the face at NorthPark Center in May was found guilty Wednesday of aggravated robbery. Demond Stuard, 28, is one of two men accused in the carjacking. He will be sentenced Thursday. (Read more: NBC DFW)
ROCKS THROWN FROM CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY OVERPASS
There are new reports of rocks being thrown off Central Expressway in Dallas. Tim Fox said his windshield was smashed by a rock Tuesday as he drove under the Knox-Henderson bridge. It's the fourth time in a month that rocks have been thrown from a bridge on the busy freeway. Fox, who is a former Marine, said he got a quick look at the thrower but could only tell police it was a young man wearing a hoodie.
LAPTOPS STOLEN FROM DALLAS CITY HALL RECOVERED
Police said they have recovered two laptop computers stolen last month from Dallas City Hall. Investigators said they identified the person seen walking away with the laptops in surveillance footage but have not filed charges. The computers were stolen in November from the city's Intergovernmental Services Department, the city's primary contact point for state and federal government.
MAN FEATURED ON AMERICA'S MOST WANTED ARRESTED IN CANADA
A man wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in Lewisville was arrested in Canada on Tuesday. Steven Hayes, who disappeared in 2005 after he was indicted on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child, was featured on "America's Most Wanted" last year. Canadian authorities arrested him at a construction site where he'd been working under an assumed name. Once he is deported, he will be turned over to U.S. authorities for outstanding felony warrants in Lewisville and Denton County.
THIEVES BUNGLE ATM THEFT
An alert security guard interrupted a group of thieves making off with an ATM at the Dallas Convention Center. When the guard approached the man to ask where he was going with the machine, he dumped it and ran to an SUV that was waiting nearby. (Read more: NBC DFW)
ROBBERS STRIKE TWICE ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF FORT WORTH
Robbery detectives are investigating two holdups that happened within 45 minutes of each other Tuesday night, but they don't believe the crimes are related, a police spokesman said. The first one happened at about 9 p.m. when two men entered the Long John Silver's restaurant, 5355 E. Loop 820, and stood by the front door, watching the parking lot. The other robbery happened about 9:45 p.m. at a Q Mart convenience store, 2100 Ridgmar Blvd. The store is on the west side of the city, about 14 miles from where the Long John Silver's was robbed in east Fort Worth.
