DPD Officer Killed in Motorcycle Crash

A Dallas police officer is dead after a motorcycle crash in Waxahachie on Wednesday.

The crash happened at about 1:40 p.m. on West Road. 

The driver, identified as 56-year-old Sr. Cpl. David Myers, lost control of the motorcycle while crossing a wooden trestle bridge and fell into a dry creek bed where he lost his life, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Myers was a 27-year veteran with the Dallas Police Department.

It is unknown was caused Myers to lose control.
