DPD Officer Arrested on Christmas Day

Officer no longer in jail, after paying $5,000 bail

A Dallas police officer was arrested in Kentucky on Christmas Day.

Zanae Shavon Humphries, 32, is accused of firing a gun in the direction of her child's father.

No one was hit by the bullet.

Humphries was arrested on a charge of wanton endangerment in the first degree. Kentucky law explains the charge as a person "wantonly engaged in conduct which created a substantial danger of death of serious physical injury to another person."

The charge is a Class D felony and punishable by up to five years in prison.

Humphries was released from jail on $5,000 bail.

Dallas Police said Humphries will officially be placed on administrative leave when she gets back to town.
