Reliant Energy is teaming up with the Dallas Independent School District to help provide school supplies for needy elementary and middle school students.
The "Lights On!" school supply drive will take place Monday at several locations around Dallas County. A complete list is available here.
Those who wish to contribute basic school supplies (paper, pens, pencils, etc.) can drop them off between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Entertainment from DISD bands and cheerleaders will also be on hand to mark the occasion. Additionally, there will also be prize giveaways at the district's administration building.
At 5:30 p.m. at the administration building, Reliant Energy will present a $5,000 check to the district for the purchase of additional school supplies to be distributed among the drive site locations.
