DISD: Police Found No Evidence of Rape at School

The Dallas school district said Wednesday that police had found no evidence of a crime at a school where a middle school student said she was sexually assaulted.

The Thomas A. Edison Learning Center student said a man followed her into a girl's bathroom at about 5 p.m. Monday and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.

The Dallas Independent School District said in a statement Wednesday evening that Dallas police had informed the district that there was "no corroborating evidence that a crime was committed" at the school.

DISD said it would send home a letter to parents with an update on Thursday.

The district statement referred further questions about the matter to Dallas police.

DISD said on Tuesday that it had reviewed the school's security camera footage but did not find video of anyone matching the description that the girl gave to police.
