Trimming Back-to-School Shopping

Expect parents to spend a little less on back-to-school shopping this summer.

School food service directors, cafeteria managers and lunchroom staff are in Dallas taste-testing new food items from more than 400 vendors.

The Dallas Independent School District is setting up a back-to-school hot line to help parents.

The hot line will address school-related concerns, including enrollment, bus routes, school lunches and immunization requirements.

The hot line will be available in both English and Spanish.
