Two parades are being held in DFW Thursday for Veterans Day.  In Dallas, the annual parade kicks off at 11:20 a.m. and in Fort Worth, the parade began at 10 a.m.

In Dallas, this year's theme honors vets of World War II.  The parade features military and school bands, Junior ROTC units and of course, vets of the war.

There will be a pre-parade ceremony at Dallas City Hall Plaza beginning at 11.

Dallas' parade route starts at Reunion Arena and ends at City Hall.

In Fort Worth, the parade begins at LaGrave Field and marches toward downtown.

Thursday afternoon there will be a Veterans Day program hosted by the Department of Veterans Affairs beginning at 3 p.m. at the DFW National Cemetery on Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas.  The event features a flyover by the 457th Air Force fighter squadron, a cannon salute and patriotic music.
