The average price of gas across Texas is up two cents this week to $3.38, but that is still 14 cents less than a year ago.

AAA Texas said on Thursday that drivers in Dallas and Fort Worth are paying the most at $3.45 per gallon. Drivers in San Antonio are paying the least at $3.28. On average Texas drivers are paying 19 cents less per gallon than the national average of $3.57.

AAA analysts say while prices may move a little higher in coming weeks, the spring price increase should peak shortly. The exception could be in regions where unexpected refinery issues cause prices to temporarily spike.

Refineries switch to producing summer-blend gasoline by May 1. That changeover and refinery maintenance increases the possibility of a disruption to production.
