DFR Continues Searching River for Missing Man

Police believe man may have drowned

Search and rescue teams were back in the Trinity River Friday morning, searching for the body of a man police say tried to elude them earlier in the week.

According to police, the man jumped into the river off of the Corinth Street Bridge while running from police.

Officers began following the man after they responded to a burglary of a motor vehicle call near R.L. Thorton Freeway and Colorado Boulevard.  When they arrived, the man took off in a pickup truck only to stop on the viaduct and jump into the river below.

After hitting the water the man surfaced once but was never seen again, leading officials to believe the man may have drowned.
