A Dallas Area Rapid Transit police trainee accidentally shot himself in the thigh Wednesday morning at police headquarters, a DART spokesman said.
The trainee was taken to Methodist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The trainee didn't holster his weapon properly while attending training at the DART police headquarters at 2100 South Corinth Street, according to spokesman Morgan Lyons.
That led to the weapon firing once around 6:30 a.m., Lyons said.
No one else was injured.
