A Duncanville church is making a public plea to whoever stole its custom-designed barbecue grill and smoker.

Members of Holy Spirit Catholic Church discovered the grill was gone from behind the building on West Danieldale Road. They said they think the grill was stolen between late Friday and early Sunday morning.

Church members are asking whoever took the grill to just return it.

"We'll go pick it up, you know," said Andy Goza, past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 8157. "We'll go get it. Make a phone call, we'll come get it."

The grill and trailer is 20 feet long. Church members were planning to use it this weekend to cook for an annual tribute to veterans at the Dallas VA Medical Center.

“We understand that times are tough and so forth, but we just want the grill back to be able to do more good things that we can do with our grill by providing food to people and so forth," said Andy Goza, past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 8157.

The grill is worth several thousand dollars and had just been repainted and refurbished.
