Crews Search for Missing 35-Year-Old Man at Little Elm Park

Search crews have recovered the body of a man who has been missing from Little Elm Park since Sunday night.

The Little Elm Police Department said a 35-year-old man was last seen at about 9:30 p.m.

The man told a friend that he was going swimming and that was the last time he was seen, according to Little Elm police.

Crews from Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Lewisville Fire Department searched for the man Sunday night and called off efforts at about 12:30 a.m. because it was too dark.

Authorities had searched the entire area where they thought he went to swim and at 3:30 p.m. on Monday recovered his body.

Police said they do not suspect foul play and say he died of an apparent drowning, although the medical examiner has not made a definitive ruling.

The man's identity is being withheld until his next of kin is notified.

The swim beach was closed during the search, but will be reopened when investigators leave the area.

NBC 5's Ellen Bryan contributed to this report.
