As thousands of North Texans get set to run the Cowtown Marathon Saturday, one couple hopes this year's finish will mark the end of a very difficult year.
Nina and Kyle Kneip got engaged as they crossed the finish line last year.
In the months that followed, an uninsured Kyle Kneip was diagnosed with a brain tumor just a month before their planned wedding date.
After a successful surgery, the two were married. Then he collapsed with a seizure on their honeymoon.
"It's been a huge roller coaster. Hopefully, tomorrow is the up part of the roller coaster, where there's no more down," Nina Kneip said.
Her husband is in much better health now and even has a new job. The two are running the race again on Saturday.
They say training for a marathon has taught them a lot about the dedication it takes to make it through life's challenges.
