Cops Suspect Foul Play in Mom's Disappearance

Police say a mother of two disappeared from her best friend's home in south Dallas Saturday morning.

La'Trese Daniels was last seen early Saturday morning. Family members said she had been out on a date Friday night.

Her date dropped her off at the apartment of her best friend, Dionne Foster, who lives on West Wheatland Road.

Foster said she heard Daniels come home Friday night and later heard the doorbell ring at about 2 a.m.

"When she opened up the door, I didn't hear nothing else," Foster said. "(I) didn't hear her say, 'Hey, how are you doing?'"

When she woke up that morning, she found her front door open, along with the freezer door.

Daniels' purse and shoes were still in the living room, Foster said.

"I really think she was forced out," said Kathy Jones, Daniels' aunt. " I really do think someone forced her out."

Investigators said they suspect foul play in Daniels' disappearance. Police said they have talked to the man who took Daniels out on her date, but have eliminated him as a possible suspect.

"It seems like I'm sleepwalking, like it's a dream, and I just want to wake up and see her," Jones said.

Anyone with information is urged to call Dallas police.
