A homeless man in McKinney has a warm place to stay this winter thanks to the help of strangers. But a home is just the beginning.
Hundreds in the community have rallied to help get Wayne Moore back on his feet.
With little more than tattered jeans and a donated shirt to his name, Moore said he came to North Texas from Florida more than a year ago.
Moore has called a McKinney convenience store home for the past month.
"I was kind of doing OK, then I made stupid decisions and lost everything," Moore said.
His honesty is what drew Jake Joplin to Moore when they crossed paths at the convenience store three weeks ago.
The two became friends, but Joplin wanted to do more.

"It just kind of hit me every night after that, like, Wayne's sleeping at home or sleeping outside. He doesn't have a home, and so I thought I'll put it on Facebook," Joplin said.

His call to action took off.
A GoFundMe page to "Save Wayne's World" raised more than $3,000 in a week.
Moore now has a closet full of clothes. Instead of sleeping on the streets, he'll have a room to stay for the next six months.
He also has a new car to get to and from four job interviews set up for him next week.
"Wow," he responded, when the keys were handed over. "All I know is there's still good people in this world."
