Chirinos, Rangers Deliver Backpacks, Smiles to Fort Worth Families

The Texas Rangers’ mantra “Never Ever Quit” is about more than what happens on the baseball diamond. Saturday, the team showed deserving families in Fort Worth that no one is quitting on them.

For the second straight year, Catcher Robinson Chirinos and his foundation partnered with Refuge Church to pass out 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to kids.

Several of his teammates, including Adrian Beltre, Rougned Odor, Elvis Andrus, Carlos Corporan, and Yovani Gallardo, joined him to hand out the backpacks and to sign autographs.

Chirinos says he gets great joy seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces.

“God has been so good to me and my family,” said Chirinos. “And I think to give back to the community is something I feel in my heart to do.”

The event all featured free haircuts for the kids, performances, food, and games.
