Denton police said the driver of a Ford F-350 pickup truck was speeding when he crashed into the back of a Nissan minivan stopped at a red light in the westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 380 at the Mayhill Road intersection at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The crash pushed the minivan through the intersection and into a Kia passenger car and a Dodge Dakota pickup truck stopped in the eastbound lanes.

Police said the crash killed a girl, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as 11-year-old Leslie De Luna, who was riding in the minivan's third-row seat. Her siblings, boys ages 8 and 4, were in the middle row and were transported to Children's Medical Center in Dallas in critical condition. Overnight Saturday, the 8-year-old boy died from his injuries. The 4-year-old remains in critical condition.

A man and woman who were in the front seats of the minivan, along with the driver of the F-350 pickup truck, were all treated for minor injuries at Denton Regional Medical Center and later released.

The drivers and occupants in the Kia and Dakota were not injured.

Denton police have not said whether the driver of the F-350 will face charges and no arrests have been made.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and more information is expected to be released Monday morning.

Highway 380, between North Loop 288 and Geesling Road, was closed while the crash was investigated, but reopened early Sunday morning.
