Dallas police are searching for the person who shot two people, including a 9-year-old boy, outside a convenience store Thursday night.

Officers said the child and another person were hospitalized in serious condition after being shot outside the Alon gas station at Scyene Road and Saint Augustine, across the street from CA Tatum Jr. Elementary School, at about 9:30 p.m.

Officers said when they arrived, they found the injured boy in the convenience store parking lot. The second victim was able to run about a half block before collapsing to the ground.

Investigators have revealed no motive and released little other information other than that the shooter drove off in a small car.

Police are looking into surveillance video for more details on what took place.
