Chief: Officer Used Stun Gun on 76-Year-Old Driver

A South Texas police officer is under investigation after authorities say a stun gun was used on a 76-year-old man during a traffic stop.

Victoria police Chief J.J. Craig told the Victoria Advocate in a story Sunday that he apologized to Pete Vasquez after reviewing dash cam video from Officer Nathanial Robinson's car.

Video shows Vasquez getting out of his car Thursday and arguing before Robinson grabs his arm and pushes him against the police cruiser. The two then fall out of the frame.

Authorities told the newspaper a stun gun was used twice on Vasquez when he was on the ground.

Craig said Robinson has been placed on administrative duty.

A number for Robinson could not be found. A Victoria police spokeswoman did not immediately return messages Sunday.
