Cedar Hill High School Placed on Lock Down

Cedar Hill High School was locked down Monday morning after a report was received of suspicious individual in the area.

According to Kim Lewis, with the Cedar Hill Independent School District, the school was placed on lockdown after a 911 call was received before 8 a.m. where someone reported seeing a man, possibly armed, walking along Somerset Drive.

The lockdown was implemented only as a precaution and not because of any specific threat made toward the school or the the students.

Additional security has also been called to nearby Permenter Middle School as a precaution, according to a tweet by the district.

At about 10:30 a.m., the all clear was given at both campuses.
