Woman Caught on Camera Stealing Package in Jail

A woman caught on surveillance video stealing a package off someone's doorstep in Corinth is behind bars.

Myka Koelzer, 34, is currently in the Tarrant County Jail. She's also suspected of mail thefts in the area, police say.

A private home surveillance system on the 2300 block of Oak Bluff Drive captured video of that is suspected to be Koelzer stealing a package left for delivery at the house.

Officers belive Koelzer, driving a silver 4-door Nissan Juke pulled into the home’s driveway once and stopped, then pulled back out into the street for a moment before again entering the driveway and parking the vehicle. The video shows her getting out of the SUV with a flyer in hand, walking to the door, grabbing the box, and then getting back in the car with it and driving off.

Residents told police that the delivery contained about $200 worth of baby clothes.

After images from the video were posted on the Corinth PD’s Facebook page, Lt. Jim Gregg said they’d received several tips from the public on the suspect, but as of Wednesday no arrests had been made and they were still looking for more information.

Gregg said the crime is one officers are seeing more often in the Metroplex and one residents should be aware of.

"Have your packages delivered to a good friend, a neighbor you trust; their workplace if they allow that. Anything other than just having it dropped off at your front door,” said Lt. Gregg.
