Carrollton Police Need Help Finding β€˜Serial Burglar'

Carrollton police are asking for help tracking down a man they say is a serial burglar.

Jason Hess, police said, is wanted in connection with at least 27 burglaries. Police said Hess targeted his own neighborhood and stored most of what he stole inside a detached garage at his parents' house.

Police recovered numerous items -- from cell phones to power tools to sunglasses -- while executing a search warrant last week.

"We were amazed by what we uncovered," Carrollton police spokesperson Jolene DeVito said.

"Basically everything that was left in a vehicle, this man and his associates would simply help themselves to."

DeVito said Hess burglarizes vehicles with their doors unlocked.

"They stole a pair of sunglasses from my car, my sister's car was broken into and my next door neighbor's," neighbor Lauren Valley said. "I was shocked that it was the street over from mine that that's where everything was."

No one at the home had any comment.

Police said they believe Hess is staying with friends in Carrollton.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Carrollton police at 972-466-3333, or email: CrimeTips@CityofCarrollton.com. Callers may remain anonymous.
