Carrollton Police Disrupt Alleged Diesel Fuel Theft Ring

A Carrollton police investigation has disrupted an alleged theft ring that they say victimized both consumers and businesses throughout North and East Texas.

Yoandi Emiliano Quezada Valdez, 33, faces charges of engaging in organized criminal activity and credit/debit card abuse, police said.

Warrants for five other people suspected of involvement have been issued.

Police said Valdez and his associates installed internal skimmers inside gas pumps and ATMs to steal credit card information from consumers to create fraudulent credit cards. Those credit cards were then used to steal diesel fuel, including from at least one Carrollton gas station.

The total losses in the alleged scheme were in excess of $500,000, police said.
