Child Protective Services opened a new office on Ledbetter Avenue in Dallas on Monday.
CPS said the opening is a step toward addressing the needs of the community in the 75216 zip.
Research shows issues of poverty, teen pregnancy and crime contribute to higher numbers of CPS investigations in the area.
"By being in this community and offering parenting and other services to family members who are caring for children in CPS cases, we hope that we can keep children safely with their families and strengthen those families," said Marissa Gonzales, CPS.
The new office will house 28 staff members.
