Bushes' Names Added to Midland Federal Courthouse

The Bushes once lived in the town of Midland

The U.S. Senate has voted to add the names of former presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush to the federal courthouse in Midland, where the Bushes once lived.

In a joint statement Tuesday, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn and U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway announced final passage of a House resolution renaming the building the "George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush United States Courthouse and George Mahon Federal Building."

Previously, the building's official name had been the "George Mahon Federal Building United States Courthouse" after a longtime Democratic congressman who once represented Midland.

Cornyn and Conaway are both Texas Republicans, and Conaway now represents Midland.
