A suspected burglar was arrested Thursday afternoon, hours after a modified lock down at Barbara Bush Elementary School in Grand Prairie.

The soft lock down was put in place Thursday afternoon while police searched the area for a burglar who was spotted trying to break into a home on the 400 block of Clearwood Drive. The home is located less than a block from the school, which is located at 511 E. Springdale Lane.

While police searched the area for the man, the school was put under soft lock down.  The man was never found and police believed he was no longer in the area.

The lockdown was lifted shortly before 3 p.m.

At about 6:15 p.m. Grand Prairie police said the suspected burglar returned to the area and was taken into custody without incident.   At this time, police have not revealed the man's name.
