Burglar Rips TVs off Oak Cliff Restaurant Walls

Security video captured what appears to be the same man stealing big screen TVs from two Dallas restaurants this week.

The first incident happened Tuesday at Lockhart Smokehouse in the Bishop Arts District.

A man wearing a white jacket and dark pants is seen breaking the glass doors to enter the restaurant. He then begins to pull on a 52-inch television mounted to the wall in the restaurant’s front dining room.

Sparks can be seen shooting from the back of the television as it is ripped away from the power plug before the man is able to finally wrench it off its mount.

It is a similar scene in surveillance video captured the very next night just down West Davis Street at Zoli’s NY Pizza Tavern.

“When I first saw the video I was pretty angry about it,” said Zoli's general manager Britt Chapman. “We kinda take it personal around here.”

Chapman posted the security video to Facebook, which has since been viewed more than 20,000 times as of Thursday night.

“Obviously it’s a criminal. It’s not gonna be anybody all that smart,” Chapman told NBC 5 about the suspect. “So [we thought] let’s put it together and see if we can catch the guy.”
