A burglary suspect arrested in Coppell Friday night has a long criminal history and spent time on the run after escaping from jail, NBC DFW has learned.
Plano police arrested 42-year-old Corey Lee Caldwell after detectives said he had just committed a residential burglary and was trying to leave the scene.
Caldwell was charged with three counts of burglary of a habitation.
NBC DFW dug through Caldwell's records in Dallas County and found quite a criminal history.
- January 1992: Caldwell was arrested for burglary and trespassing.
- May 2004: Caldwell pleaded guilty to organized crime for burglarizing four houses from November 2002-June 2003. He received five years probation and was fined $2000.

While in custody, Caldwell escaped from a holding cell between two courtrooms.
- November 2007: U.S. Marshals caught up with Caldwell. His probation was revoked.
- 2007-2014: Caldwell served prison time.
- May 12, 2014: Caldwell was released from prison.
