Crews with Atmos Energy spent Sunday trying to get natural gas service restored to a six-block area near University Park.

The outage affects Villanova, Wentwood, Centenary and Marquette streets.

Atmos spokesman Ray Granado said crews should have gas service restored by 10 p.m. Sunday.

Temps were as low as 38 degrees in Dallas on Sunday. Forecasters expect temperatures to be in the mid-40s Sunday night.

Granado said moisture got into the lines that deliver the gas to homes in that area. He blamed recent soaking rains for the problem.  When moister gets into gas lines, it affects gas pressure, Granado said.
