Brothers Killed in West Explosion Honored

A new brush truck was donated to the City of West Monday in honor of brothers Robert and Douglas Snokhouse.

They were among the 15 killed in the fertilizer explosion in West in April 2013.

Doug Snokhous, 50, and Bob Snokhous, 48, were both captains with the West Volunteer Fire Department.

Central Texas Iron Works paid for half of the $90,000 truck as a way to honor the brothers who worked at the company. The City of West and the West Volunteer Fire Department paid for the rest.

The new truck replaced the one lost in the April blast and fire.

The truck, designed to fight brush fires, has already been in service and was dedicated in a special ceremony Monday.
