Bridwell's Band of Horses Fills Stubb's BBQ

Sub Pop indie recording artist Band of Horses took over Stubb's BBQ in Austin Thursday night.

Lead singer Ben Bridwell continues to record songs with a falsetto hard to reproduce live, but the capacity crowd of roughly 2,300 SXSWers didn't seem to mind.  The same could be said for the hundreds left standing on Red River who had hoped to get into the show but who could hear the band's southern rock and Bridwell's crooning clearly from the outdoor venue.

Horses entertained a near hour-long set and debuted a few new tracks from their upcoming album, Infinite Arms, which is due out May 18.

The band has one final show at SXSW, Friday night at Central Presbyterian Church.  If you can get in ... they aren't to be missed. Later this year, Bridwell and gang will hit the road in the U.S. opening for fellow Seattle band Pearl Jam.
